PHA2351: BASIC PHARMACOLOGY AND TOXICOLOGY

Welcome to the module "Basic Pharmacology and Toxicology". This module is designed to expand on earlier knowledge of the basic sciences of pharmacology and Toxicology. The aim is to provide a balanced and comprehensive basis of pharmacology  it relates to the understanding of the mechanisms of drug action (Pharmacodynamics), disposition (Pharmacokinetics) and the basic concepts of clinical pharmacology and pharmacotherapy. Through Online Interactive Tutorial in Pharmacology and interpretation of a Patient Information Leaflet (PIL), students will increase understanding of and develop the practical skills of evaluating the concepts in Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapeutics. Structured exercises will be administered initiate students with pharmacokinetics calculations.
