ARC 5161/2/3: Research and Documentation, Project Programming, and Conceptual Design
Semester I
The graduation thesis/project spans the entire academic year, encompassing two semesters. This module is a research-based design project that integrates both professional and academic aspects of architecture. The graduation thesis should respond to both internal and external architectural discourse and include a significant research component. Students will engage in extensive research, addressing contemporary architectural issues and challenges. Design research holds significant potential to advance the discipline of architecture by providing a space for students and academic staff to engage in open-ended dialogues, applying, experimenting, evaluating, and critiquing advancements in architectural design knowledge.
