  • This unit aims to introduce and familiarize students on basic morphology of human cells and tissues.

    By the end of this module, students will be able to:

    1) Define histology and explain its importance in studying the microscopic structure of human tissues.

    2) Describe the relationship between cells, tissues, organs, and organ systems in the human body.

    3) Identify the four basic tissue types in the body: epithelial, connective, muscle, and nervous tissue.

    4) Understand the basic principles of light microscopy used to study tissues.
