This course focuses on an economic overview of
problems related to land use. Specifically, it deals with the theory and
analysis of land rent, land evaluation; public policies
that address the conservation and management of land resources; efficiency of land as an input to production, property
rights, land-based resources, effect of land Location
and topography, succession in land use, highest and best use.
In addition, students study Land use change, Land use modelling and its implications to articulate the analysis of the possible future changes in land use based on the current trends as well as some level of probabilities. This allows for analysing the measures and different(innovative) land management tools that land related institutions take.
