Semester 5

The objective of this module is to enable you to develop a basic understanding of theory and strategies of planning and management of timber harvesting, techniques including felling, bucking, skidding operation, cable yarding, harvesting cost analysis, safety aspects of harvesting, and principles of forest survey and road construction and maintenance methods and forest mapping using GIS and remote sensing techniques.
