This module introduces you to the principles and practice of environmental health as a key component of community/public health and primary health care. It explores the relationship between people and their physical, biological, and social environment, and how environmental factors influence health and disease.The module covers fundamental concepts of environmental health such as water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), water-related diseases and their prevention, safe housing, personal and community hygiene, food hygiene and safety, waste management, vector and rodent control, occupational safety and health (OSH), and environmental health promotion. You will develop knowledge and practical skills to identify environmental health risks, conduct community assessments, and plan appropriate preventive and control interventions within households and communities.
