The module aims to provide an understanding of various factors affecting plant mineral nutrition and principles of soil fertility management and improvement of land productivity using fertilizers, and principles of soil conservation.

The module aims to provide basic knowledge on the cycle and storage of water and its dynamics (behaviour) in agro-ecosystems and impacts on agricultural activity.

 

Course image CPR2174 Geosciences and Land Use Planning
Semester 1

The module of Geosciences and Land use planning explores the key concepts and techniques of geographic information system (GIS) and remote sensing (RS), use of GIS softwares for monitoring land resource change over time, soil and water conservation techniques, soil suitability classification, land management practices, essential soil elements and their influence on plant growth. This module is designed to provide students with knowledge regarding land and water resources management practices and use of software’s for further monitoring and modeling new actions for better management practices. 

Course image CPR 2175 ANIMAL NUTRITION
Semester 1

The Module of ANIMAL NUTRITION" aims at enabling the student to understand the role and importance of farm Animal nutrition; identify and characterize different livestock feeds and the best practices of livestock feeding, link different livestock species and their environment to agriculture production. Forage production and management for livestock feeding.

This module intended to be taught in year 2 Crop Sciences has three components: Forage Production and Pasture Management(4 credits), Principles of Animal Nutrition (3 credits), and Animal Feed and Feeding(3 credits).
