- Welcome to the module of EPS1245 Human Growth and Development. This module aims at providing students with knowledge and skills in human growth and development. It deeply explains the concept, principles, determinants, and theories of human growth and development. The module discusses the behavioral concomitants of physical, cognitive, socio-emotional, personality and moral changes at each stage of lifespan development from conception to late childhood. The role of educational psychologists, teachers, and parents/caregivers in ensuring typical human development is also discussed.

EDP2248 is a module taught to year 2 students in the combination of educational psychology. The module tackles different domains related to internal mental processes including attention, sensation, perception, memory, intelligence (human and artificial), etc. It also covers topics related to the brain as the main regulator of thinking, reasoning, judgement, problem solving... For a better understanding of cognitive aspects, topics such as planning and goal setting, cognitive control and inhibition, self-regulation and metacognition, consciousness... will be explored.
