This course aims to familiarize students with the different chemical structures of natural compounds isolated from either plants or animals. Biosynthesis, Isolation methods, classification criteria, characterization and identification, nomenclature, and chemical synthesis of these compounds will be discussed. The application of these compounds in various domains especially those of dietetic and therapeutic uses will be also described.
